Thomas J. O’Donnell served as Secretary-Treasurer of Theatrical Teamsters Local 817 for 23 years before being elected President in early 2013. Prior to his service as an officer of the local, he began his career as a driver on the filming of the movie “Stepford Wives” in 1974. He later became a Transportation Captain. He was recently appointed Director of the Teamsters Motion Picture Trade Division. “Tom has been a strong partner in growing the Motion Picture Division from coast to coast” said General President James Hoffa. “No one understands the industry better than Tom. He’s a tremendous leader who will continue to help Teamster locals navigate the ever changing industry landscape.”
Tom is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Museum of the Moving Image and the COMTU (Council of Motion Picture and Television Unions). Mr. O’Donnell has a B.S. in Industrial Psychology from St. Bonaventure University.
James Fanning has been a member of Local 817 for over thirty years. Currently he is serving as Vice President. He is also a Trustee of the Pension, Welfare, and Scholarship funds.
Charlie Spillane graduated from St. Francis College in 1981 earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. From 1982 until 1989 he worked for the brokerage firm Bear Sterns & Co. In 1989 Charlie left Wall Street and began his career with Local 817. He has been a vested member for 25 years and is currently one of our Captains. Charlie represents our members as a Trustee for a second term on Local 817's Executive Board.

James Leavey, A Vietnam Vet, proudly served our Country until 1981. He is a third generation teamster. Elected to Executive Board in 1985 as Recording Secretary. He also serves as the NYS Coordinator for the Teamsters Military Assistance Program.
Mike starting shaping in 1967. He got his union book in May 12,1969. He was elected to Trustee of the Executive Board in 1984.
Terry Casaletta has been an Organizer for Teamsters Local 817since 2008. Her responsibilities include the negotiation, administration and facilitation of the Teamster Casting Directors and Commercial Location Agreements. Ms. Casaletta has been employed by Entertainment unions beginning her career at the Screen Actors Guild as their first female field representative, moving to the DGA as the Associate Eastern Executive Secretary for Film/Television/Commercials, and on to AFTRA-NY as their Director of Television, where she organized their first digital television agreements.
